OGEMAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

WNEM TV5 is told the Tangers Outlet Center in West Branch remains closed to shoppers and will stay that way until further notice.

On Friday afternoon, structural engineers were at the location, doing a walk-through with the fire chief to assess the damage. No bracing or shoring up of the property has started yet.

A nearby Applebee's, which closed following the cave-in, was also closed but has since reopened.

The collapse originated at the Ralph Lauren store and ended up impacting both the Hanes store and Van Heusen location.

According to The Ogemaw Herald, authorities say they believe the cave-in was due to a build-up of snow on the roof. No official cause has been released however.
