BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

A derailed train has caused the closure of a busy Bay City roadway. Marquette Avenue is closed just north of State Street after a train derailed in the area around 10 p.m. Thursday night.

Crews are working to clear the scene and there is no word on when the roadway will reopen.

This is second day in a row that a train derailment has closed a Mid-Michigan roadway.

A train vs. car collision forced the closure of Burt Road in Saginaw County's Birch Run Township but the roadway has since reopened.

The accident happened around 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning near the intersection of Burt and Beyer roads, just south of the Birch Run Premium Outlets.

The car sustained extensive damage but the driver only suffered minor injuries.

Burt Road was shut down for about 3 hours while officials cleaned up the mess.
