TV5 has learned that Dow Corning's Midland site experienced a power outage on Friday around noon that impacted several buildings.
In part, the statement released by the company reads:
In addition to the power outages, the site also experienced a small chemical release, which was quickly stopped and stayed within the fence line of the site. The Midland Fire Department is on scene as a precaution. There have been no injuries or impact to the community associated with this incident. An investigation is underway to determine what caused the power outage, and the site hopes to be fully restored by this afternoon.
