SHIAWASSEE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Police have identified the man they say is responsible for a bank robbery in Ingham County.

Police say 43-year-old Michael Willingham from Flint attempted to rob a PNC Bank in Meridian Township.

Authorities say the man fled in a car on Interstate 69 before crashing into the median and running into the woods in neighboring Shiawassee County.

State police and sheriff's deputies set up a perimeter after footprints were seen leading to the deer blind in Shiawassee Township.

Authorities say they monitored the deer blind for several hours. When they went in they say they found that the man had apparently hanged himself.

Police are investigating whether Willingham may have been involved in any other robberies.
