Child abuse charges against a Saginaw County woman have been dropped.

Kathleene Schattilly was arrested back in January of 2012, accused of abusing two of her foster children at her Frankenmuth Township home.

Schattilly was charged with first-degree child abuse and torture. Police said it was a tip from a school counselor that launched the investigation.

The children were not Schattilly's biological kids, they were adopted out of foster care. The children were removed from the house to protect their safety.

More than two years later, just before the trial was about to start, the Saginaw County prosecutor's office dropped the charges.

Since the arrest, the two foster children were moved to a different home.
