Tanger Outlet Mall to reopen Wednesday

Posted: Updated:
OGEMAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

It's back to business Wednesday for more than a dozen stores at a local outlet mall.

The Tanger Outlet Mall has been closed for nearly two weeks after a partial roof collapse late last month.

Crews are wrapping up demolition on two heavily damaged stores, Ralph Lauren Polo and the Hanes store.

According to The Ogemaw Herald, authorities say they believe the cave-in was due to a build-up of snow on the roof. No official cause has been released however.

An Applebee's restaurant in the area also had to close for a short time.

No word on when those stores will be back in business. But engineers have decided 17 stores are now safe to reopen.

The mall opens at 9 a.m.
