SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

Friends and family gathered Tuesday to say goodbye to former Saginaw Spirit hockey player Terry Trafford.

Funeral services were held Tuesday in Trafford's hometown of Toronto.

Craig Goslin, the President of the Saginaw Spirit and Dick Garber, the team's owner, were on hand.

After being missing for days, police found the 20-year-old Trafford dead inside his truck in a parking lot in Saginaw Township.

The medical examiner has ruled his death a suicide.

Trafford's body was found inside of his truck in a Saginaw Township parking lot.

Trafford went missing March 3. Trafford, 20, was a Toronto native and had been with the Spirit for several seasons.

According to Trafford's girlfriend, Skye Cieszlak, the young player was devastated after he was told the team didn't want him back.

His former teammates and fans were focused on the ice during their final regular season game Monday night at the Dow Event Center. The Spirit took on the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and Trafford was high on the minds of fans.

The Spirit won the game 4-3 in overtime.
