A Mid-Michigan mother, already charged for the murder of one child is now facing similar charges in the death of another.
Crystal Shelton-Randolph was charged last year with the murder of her one-year-old son, Jordan.
Jordan's death came just months after his twin sister Ja'Mya died of what was originally ruled as undetermined asphyxiation.
Police are saying foul play was involved in both deaths.
Marcia Franks is with the Weiss Advocacy Group in Flint. The organization has been fighting for child safety for years.
You can imagine Frank's reaction when she learned that Crystal Shelton-Randolph is now charged with killing both of her children.
Shelton-Randolph's child Ja'Mya passed away back in September. At the time, investigators believed the child died of natural causes but when a second child ended up dead, police took at second look at the case. The brought new information and new charges against Shelton-Randolph.
Back in November, Shelton-Randolph was charged with criminal sexual conduct and with murdering two-year-old Jordan. The details were so disturbing the police chief wouldn't comment on the specifics of the case.
It was that investigation that led police to believe that the first death in her home was no accident. The lead detective on the case, Alfino Donastorg, says the findings were handed over to the prosecutor and new charges were filed.
A hearing has not been set.
Meanwhile, Shelton-Randolph remains behind bar without bond. A judge ordered her to undergo a psychiatric exam.
