Authorities say a 12-year-old Sanilac County boy has been taken to a hospital after being shot in the hand by a shotgun that was dropped by his 14-year-old brother.
The Times Herald of Port Huron reports the boy was shot about 6:10 p.m. Monday in Croswell.
Police say the boys were in a bedroom of a home and the 14-year-old boy removed a shotgun from a gun safe and dropped the weapon.
The 12-year-old had what were described as serious injuries to his hand. The boys were home alone at the time.
Police are investigating.
