Future of Morley Elementary School property in Question

Posted: Updated:
SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

Community leaders invite you to a meeting to help determine the future of the former Morley Elementary School property.

Since 2004, the Morley Enrichment and Cultural Committee tried to raise funds to secure the recently demolished Morley Elementary School so it could be used as a community center for the residents and children living in that community.  The Chairperson of the Committee is Kermit Diggs, a 30 year plus retired teacher of the SPSD who worked nearly all of her years at Morley.

The adjacent park has been the home of the Saginaw African Cultural Festival for more than 30 years.  What happens to this 17 plus acre land and park area depends largely on the Saginaw Public School District Administration.

If you are interested in providing input on the future of this property, you are inviting to attend a community meeting Thursday, March 20th, 6:00 pm at the South 17th Church of Christ, 516 So. 17th Street.Saginaw.
