Posted: Updated:
SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Don't be alarmed by the huge plumes of smoke billowing into the sky in Saginaw County.

The Department of Natural Resources executed a controlled burn of Crow Island State Game Area Wednesday.

TV5 received many calls regarding the huge smoke clouds that were coming from an area near the Zilwaukee Bridge. Smoke could be seen for miles.

The DNR schedules controlled burns in order to eliminate overgrowth and prevent invasive species from attacking wildlife in the area.
