Search for suspects continues in hit-and-run death

Posted: Updated:
FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

A hit-and-run accident in Genesee County last year left one person dead and police searching for a suspect. The case is still open and the victim's family is asking for your help.

On September 28, 2013, 34-year-old Jeffrey Lee was killed on Dort Highway as he left the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club in Flint.

Lee was a father of three. His mother called him a proud family man and a hard worker.

"It's been a nightmare and hopefully, one day, somebody speaks up," says Brenda Miracle, Lee's mother.

Police believe Lee was struck by a dark-colored, newer model Chevy Silverado around midnight.
A silver or gray Chevrolet Impala appeared to be with the truck, following close behind.

Police say there have been leads but there's still work to be done to collect evidence that's needed to make the arrest.

An arrest the family needs for some type of closure.

Flint Police believe there's damage to that newer-style Silverado that hit Lee that night.  If you have any information, you can call anonymously to 1-800-773-2587.

There's up to a $2,500 reward for tips that lead to an arrest. Remember any calls made to Crimestoppers are not tracked.

The tipster receives a referral code they can use to collect their money.
