Low-lying areas in the city of Jackson saw large amounts of rainfall Sunday especially the underpass on West Monument Street.
A Rankin County woman was rescued from her vehicle after it stalled in floodwaters more than a foot deep.
Two other vehicles also stalled after trying to get through the area.
One woman says the City of Jackson is liable for her car's damage because the street wasn't closed off.
"I'm stuck here until a tow truck comes. What am I supposed to do?," said Pam Greer.
Reporter: How can the city make this better?
Greer replied, "They can buy me a new car, point blank simple, because I refuse to put my car in the shop and pay for the bill, and then pay taxes as well? They got me all the way messed up," Greer added.
Residents said the area always floods when it rains.
When our photographer left the scene, only one side of the road was closed to traffic with few barricades.
The City of Jackson did not return our calls for comment.
