TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Disturbing new details are being released in the case of daycare operator, Gary Talkington, charged with child molestation, sexual conduct with a minor, and sexual abuse.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department served search warrants at the in-home day care off Silverbell and W. Camino Del Cerro on April 4th.

Detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit confiscated attendance logs, DNA swabs, and a jar of candy from the home, according to the search warrants just released on Wednesday.

According to the Interim Complaint, detectives went to the daycare called "Cricket's Kids Pre-school" operated by Gary Talkington and his wife after a child under the age of five, disclosed to her parents that Talkington had touched her in her "private areas".

Court documents state Talkington would "lure" the child away during nap time, and take her away from the area where other children were sleeping, into the kitchen with the promise of candy.

Court documents state Talkington told the child to be quiet and not make any noise.  He told the child he loved her and wanted to play.  Court documents state once in the kitchen, Talkington pulled down the child's pants, picked her up by the ankles and held her upside down, gave her licorice candy, then sexually assaulted her.

Investigators said this happened at least three separate times on different days.  Each time, court documents state Talkington would lure the child into the kitchen with candy during nap time, and tell her that she was special and he loved her.

Detectives said a sex kit was conducted on the child.  The evidence would be compared with DNA obtained from the suspect.

Court documents indicate the preschool that Talkington owns and acts as a caregiver for continues to operate with approximately five children attending at any given time during the day.
