GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WNEM) -

A West Michigan father has been reunited with his daughter's missing remains, after her urn was stolen from his home about four weeks ago.

Paul Hoogterp's 23-year-old daughter Aubrey died in 2012 after battling addiction.

Two teenagers discovered the urn on the side of a Grand Rapids road in the snow. The two then turned the items into Grand Rapids police.

Hoogterp says he's thankful for the teens but is determined to find those who stole his daughter's ashes.

"To hear the story, it went from awesome to I was just furious, absolutely furious. The people who stole the urn, they can't even be human, they can't," says Hoogterp.

Paul says he's offering a 5-thousand dollar reward for information leading up to a conviction.
