Henrico couple wins $4 million in Va. Lottery

A Henrico couple worked as a team to win the $4 million top prize in the Virginia Lottery's $100 Million Cash Extravaganza game.

Rosalyn Radden bought the ticket; husband David Diggs scratched it. They said when they found out their ticket was a big winner, they high-fived.

Radden and Diggs bought the winning ticket at the Martin's Food Market on John Rolfe Parkway in Henrico. Radden had decided a few weeks earlier that she would buy one ticket in that game each week. Four weeks later, Radden and Diggs held a winning ticket.

On April 16, the couple returned to the grocery store to receive their prize from Virginia Lottery officials. Even Martin's came away a winner; the store received a $10,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling the winning ticket.

Radden and Diggs had a choice of taking the full $4 million prize over 30 years, or a one-time cash option of $2,724,000. They chose the cash option.

The Virginia Lottery's $100 Million Cash Extravaganza features prizes ranging from $20 up to $4 million. The game began with a total of $100 million in prizes available. Radden and Diggs claimed the first $4 million prize. Lottery officials said three $4 million tickets and three $1 million second-prize tickets remain unclaimed.
