A Gratiot County man died after he fell from a work project. The incident happened around 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Michael Rempp, 58, of Elwell, MI, was working for an out-of-county private contractor, dismantling a feed mill leg at the Cooperative Elevator Company on Ruth Road in Sherman Township.
Rempp was about 60 feet up in the tower of that leg when, according to a witness, it appeared he accidentally fell through an opening in the tower to the ground, a Huron County sheriff press release said.
The Huron County Medical Examiner's Office responded and pronounced Rempp dead at the scene.
Arrangements for an autopsy are still being made.
