A young boy suffered smoke inhalation after trying to save his dog in a house fire Wednesday afternoon.
The fire happened shortly after 3 p.m. on North Bond Street in Saginaw. Firefighters say the fire started on the upper level of the two story home. Officials say the fire was confined to one upstairs bedroom. The child evidently tried to rescue his dog and was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.Everyone inside the home at the time the blaze broke out made it out safely. The dog also made it out unharmed.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
