FRANKENLUST TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

Authorities have identified a man who died after being struck by two vehicles while walking along I-75 in Bay County.

Derrick Ammons, 21, was a student at Saginaw Valley State University. He lived in the Saginaw area, but was from the Detroit suburb of Westland.

Ammons died Saturday night. Officials say he had crashed into a concrete divider in the center of the expressway and then was hit after he walked into the roadway in Frankenlust Township.

Saginaw Valley State spokesman J.J. Boehm says Ammons was majoring in criminal justice. Ammons also was a member of the school's club dodgeball team.
