DAVISON, MI (WNEM) -

Spring is here, and that means fresh fruits and veggies are back in season.

Thursday, a brand new farmers' market in Davison opened its doors.

People came from all over the area to get their first look and pick up some fresh, locally grown produce.

The year-round market features both long-term venders inside, and fresh and local sellers outside on the market floor.

"We've got meat. We've got produce. We've got cheese. We've got a couple delis. We've got a middle eastern deli. We've got our chatterbox deli down here, cupcakes, elephant ears. We've got it all," said Mark Wood, co-owner of the market.

The farmer's market features things not found in a typical super market; most of what they sell is locally made. There are more than 70 vendors both inside and outside the market.

For some, the opening of the market has come with a great amount of anticipation.

"Everywhere I go they're talking about how I can't wait til you open," said Tom Alex, owner of Knob Hill Meat Market.

The market is expected to be busy. From the moment the doors opened, the building was bustling with shoppers.

"I'm thankful it's open and right here close. It's a beautiful place," said Louis Rush, a visitor at the market.

The market is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays year-round from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
