MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC) - Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous is still buzzing after Thursday night's visit from British Princes William and Harry, who are in town for the wedding of one of their best friends, Guy Pelly.

Pelly is marrying Memphian Lizzy Wilson on Saturday, May 3. She is the granddaughter of Holiday Inn founder Kemmons Wilson.

No pictures were allowed inside during the wedding party's dinner at Rendezvous, Vergos did open up to WMC Action News 5's Andrew Douglas about details of the dinner and the atmosphere.

"They had a cheese and sausage appetizer, ribs, brisket, beans, and slaw shoulder," said Vergos. "They had Jack Daniel's and Coke ... I know they enjoyed it because they thanked me for the ribs."

About 175 guests sat in the room upstairs at Rendezvous. Prince Harry was wandering around while Prince William sat, taking it all in.

"They felt very much at home," added Vergos. "The Wilsons were very insistent about making it very casual. No speeches or anything like that."

No speeches were made, but Vergos did have a moment to speak with one of the princes.

"I did tell William that I appreciate the work that he does. He's very much involved in saving endangered species in Africa, and I told him I appreciate the environmental things that he does and hope that he would continue doing that," said Vergos.

Prince William and Prince Harry stayed until the very end of the dinner.

"I think it's a real shot in the arm promoting Memphis worldwide for the cultural city that it is," said Vergos. "They are going to get a glimpse of Memphis food, music, and culture."
