Local man looks to make history

CLIO, MI (WNEM) -

A local man could go down in the Guinness Book of World Records. Jason Hicks, 35, is hitting the bowling alley, attempting to get the most strikes in one minute.

13 is the lucky number and while it may sound like an impossible challenge, the last time he tried he only missed by one second.

The attempt will take place at Bowling Arcada on Vienna Road in Clio.

His first attempt will be aired live on TV5 at about 6:20p.m. Friday.

Back in March, Hicks tied the record of 12 set by Chad McLean of Gainesville last summer. Hicks in his attempt back in March almost had the 13th strike but it was ruled to be a second late.

Friday's event is also a fund raiser for Jason's new non-profit organization. With a $25 donation, fans will get dinner and two hours of glowing bowling at the facility.

Jason's non-profit, which is called United States Miracle Works Foundation, will distribute funds to some of his favorite charities like the Children's Miracle Network and the American Cancer Society.

Jason's last attempt was on March 7.
