TEMPE, AZ (CBS5) -

Police agencies across the state are patrolling the streets and highways for drunk drivers, part of a crackdown over Cinco De Mayo weekend.

Command posts are set up across the Valley in Phoenix, the West Valley and the East Valley.

At the East Valley command post, Tempe Police Sgt. William Cullins said eight police agencies teamed up with dozens of patrol officers for the weekend's crackdown.

"Folks want to be outside, they want to enjoy themselves and [police] want them to enjoy themselves," Cullins said. "Just be responsible about it."

Friday night, the East Valley command post registered 60 arrests.

At the West Valley command post, officers pulled in 21 arrests with an average blood alcohol content of .141, according to Glendale Police Sgt. Rich Stringer.

Many other task forces are set up across the state including Sedona, Casa Grande, Globe, Flagstaff, Prescott, and Coolidge.
