KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

Police are investigating after a motorcyclist was killed Sunday in a three-vehicle accident.

The victim has been identified as 59-year-old Roger D. Chapman, of Independence.

Officers were called about 11:40 a.m. to the 6300 block of Leavenworth Road. The road was closed to traffic while authorities investigated the crash.

Kansas City, KS, police said a gray pickup was stopped at a red light and the motorcyclist was behind the truck.

A car came up at a high rate of speed and plowed into Chapman, pinning him between the two vehicles.

This was the second fatality accident at the same intersection in the last month.

A horrific crash on April 10 killed 7-year-old Jasmine Rodriguez, of KCK.

Investigators say Tyrone Murphy Jr., 27, was trying to speed away from police when he slammed into a van with a mom and three children inside. The other children in the van were ages 9 and 7. Click here to read more.
