Animal ordinance adopted in Harbor Beach

Posted: Updated:
HARBOR BEACH, MI (WNEM) -

You'll soon be breaking the law in the Huron County community of Harbor Beach if you have more than three pets.

The city has changed the amount of dogs and cats that a resident can have to no more than three dogs and or cats, unless that resident is an approved commercial kennel.

Also, the keeping of poultry, cattle, swine, horses, sheep, goats, rabbits or other livestock is prohibited by residents within the city limits.

If a resident's cat or dog is to give birth, the resident has up to four months after the birth to adhere to the restrictions.

The ordinance becomes effective 20 days after publication in the Huron Daily Tribune.
