ANN ARBOR, MI (AP) -
Students at a Flint-area high school are taking the field ahead a prom experience to remember. For more than one reason.
Not only is it prom, but it's being held at the Big House.
Durand High School senior Justin Quagliata said "this is very exciting ... this is something new for me" as he and his classmates headed onto the Michigan Stadium field about 5:30 p.m. Saturday. It's the first time the 100,000-plus-seat football venue has hosted a prom.
The students will take photos before heading up to the Stadium Club for dinner and dancing.
The stadium has hosted the NHL and is welcoming world soccer powerhouses Manchester United and Real Madrid this summer.
Spartan Stadium in East Lansing has been available for high school proms since 2007.
