The Town of Unicoi invites you to the Wayne Scott Strawberry Festival

NEWS CHANNEL 11 AT NOON (WJHL) -

The legacy of one man continues in the strawberry fields in the Town of Unicoi. The hard work, dedication and character carries a name known throughout the region "Scott," Wayne Scott.

The business has been carried on by his family. Today, you will find his sons, Steve and David, running the business of strawberries, tomatoes and blueberries.

In true recognition, the Town of Unicoi declared an annual celebration of the strawberry harvest a community festival, the Strawberry Festival.

This year the celebration known as the Wayne Scott Strawberry Festival takes place Saturday, May 17 from 9am until 5pm. The Town of Unicoi invites you to join in the fun at Unicoi Elementary School.

The parade begins at 9am, Pet Palooza starts at 2pm, and there's a magic show at 3pm. The silent auction starts at 4pm. For more information, call 423.743.7162.
