Former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez has been indicted in a 2012 double murder in Boston's South End.
Police said the Bristol, CT native appeared to be driving the vehicle linked to that shooting, WBZ-TV reported Thursday.
The two men were killed on July 16, 2012. A third person was wounded.
Hernandez's cousin, Tanya Singleton, was also indicted. The SUV involved was allegedly found inside her garage. She was granted immunity in exchange for testifying in front of a grand jury. However, officials said she never showed.
Hernandez was being held without bail for the murder of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd. Police said Lloyd was killed on June 17, 2013 in North Attleboro, MA, two days after hanging out with Hernandez.
He pleaded not guilty in that case.
An indictment came back in April charging Hernandez associates Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace, both from Bristol, CT, with murder in the Lloyd case.
Wallace and Ortiz have pleaded not guilty to accessory to murder after the fact.
Police expected to release more information on the double murder indictment during a news conference Thursday morning.
