Cleveland SWAT responds to home on E. 71st in search of shooting suspect

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Fifth District Cleveland Police is currently investigating a felonious assault shooting that occurred on Thursday, May 22, in the 1100 block of E. 71 around 11 a.m.  

Officers confirm that one male victim suffered a gunshot wound to the rear end and was transported to MetroHealth for treatment.  

At this point in the investigation officers say that the victim and suspect know one another and that they became involved in a verbal argument followed by the suspect shooting the victim.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect may have been in a house in the 1100 block of East 71.

The SWAT Unit responded to the home due the possibility if the suspect being armed.

Officers were unable to locate the suspect.

This matter remains under investigation.
