A southeast Portland apartment complex is saying "No" to playtime, advising tenants that children are not allowed to play outside their apartments.
Property managers at the Sterling Park Apartments on Southeast Powell and 168th hung fliers on the doors for tenants on Thursday morning.
The fliers informed them of the "no play" policy, and they specifically state that "residents will not be permitted to play in halls, stairways, or entrances of buildings, gardens or landscape areas," which residents said effectively eliminates the whole property, with the exception of the pool.
Melissa Petri, who has an 8-year-old daughter, said keeping her entertained will be challenging.
"I guess I'll keep her inside, take her to the park sometimes. Maybe have her blow bubbles off the patio," said Petri.
Petri said she spoke with her apartment manager who told her the measures are for the safety of the residents.
No one with the apartment complex was available to speak with FOX 12, and a phone call to the office was not returned.
