BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

Bay City police have a Saginaw man in custody in connection to a fatal shooting that happened over the weekend.

Officers were called to Tubby's Bar on Kosciuszko Avenue on the city's east side Saturday at 12:45 a.m. for reports of gunfire. When they arrived they found a man shot to death. Police identified 38-year-old Alfred Watts as the victim. Watts is from Bay City.

Officers, along with Bay County Sheriff's deputies and troopers from the Michigan State Police, located a man who matched witnesses' descriptions. He was questioned and taken into custody. His name has not been released.

Police Captain Joe Lavana said the shooting was not a drive-by.

The case is still under investigation. Detectives ask that anyone with additional information regarding this incident call the Bay City Department of Public Safety Support Operations Division at 989-894-0161 or CRIME STOPPERS AT 1-800-422-JAIL.
