A woman called animal control to get a raccoon she had trapped in her bathroom overnight.
HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
An 87-year-old womanwho lives on Morgan Street in Huntsville got quite the scare Wednesday night.
She had left her garage door opened for her cats. When she went to close it around 10 p.m., she noticed a pile of pecan shells she forgot to clean up. While she was cleaning, a raccoon scampered into her house.
She didn't realize the animal had made its way into the home until she went into the bathroom. She slammed the bathroom door on the animal and walked around her neighborhood to see if anyone was awake. When she couldn't find anyone to help, she decided to put up with her unexpected house guest until the morning.
She turned on the TV so that the raccoon would know a human was in the house and in the morning, she called police and animal control who came to take away the raccoon.
The woman's daughter said the raccoon did a little bit of damage, and they'll have to replace the bathroom door.
