Burton police said a 2-year-old boy pushed out a screen and fell out of the window of a third-story apartment.
The boy fell out of a window at Boulder Creek Apartments off of Maple Road in Genesee County. The boy pushed out a screen and plummeted to the ground. He was transported to Hurley Medical Center in Flint.
Burton Police Detective Eric Freeman said the boy is doing okay. There are no indications of broken bones, Freeman said. The boy did sustain a cut to his head.
Area resident Tiffany Hudson is haunted by what she witnessed as the boy was lying on the ground covered in blood and a mother hysterically crying out for help.
"I ran upstairs to grab her a towel and she was trying to wipe all the blood off of him," says Hudson. "I was waiting for him to come to because he was unconscious and when he started crying again, that's when I ran into the house and when I came back out he was unconscious again."
The incident is being looked at as an accident.
The Burton Police Department and an ambulance responded to the scene.
