$30K worth of drugs seized from Fayetteville couple's home

A Fayetteville couple is facing multiple drug charges after police found nearly two dozen marijuana plants and drug paraphernalia inside their home.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the home of Stephen Tyler Morgan, 28, and his girlfriend, April Nicole Hales, 30, at 2613 Keats Place Thursday night.

Deputies found 22 marijuana plants split into two indoor growing stations. Each station was equipped with fans, high-pressure grow lamps, exhaust vents, thermometers and electronic timers.

The sheriff’s office said all of the indoor equipment was being use to cultivate and harvest marijuana.

Deputies also seized eight glass jars of marijuana with a combined weight of 330.13 grams. The street value you of the drugs confiscated is about $30,000.

Several firearms were also seized from the home. One of the firearms was loaded and was left out where the couple’s 4-year-old child could have picked up.

Deputies said the rest of the home was littered with trash, dirty dishes and ash trays.

Morgan and Hayes are being processed at the Cumberland County Detention Center. Morgan was given a $5,000 unsecured bond. Bond for Hales was set at $5,300.
