Authorities say a 17-year-old swimmer is missing at Lake Chapin in southwestern Michigan.
The Berrien County sheriff's department says crews responded Monday evening to the lake off of Grove Park following a report of two swimmers having trouble.
The department says one swimmer made it out of the water and the other went under and didn't surface. Crews searched by boat before sending divers into the water, but the missing swimmer wasn't found. The search was suspended Monday night due to darkness.
Crews are expected to return to the lake on Tuesday to resume the search. Names of those involved weren't immediately released. The department says the swimmer who made it out of the water, also 17, was checked out by a medic at the scene and was OK.
