A judge has ordered a 15-year-old boy and two men held without bond on murder charges in the shotgun slaying of a 13-year-old Kalamazoo boy following a Memorial Day fight that broke out in a large group of people.
Eighth-grader Michael Day was killed by a shotgun blast.
The 15-year-old is charged as an adult. The Associated Press isn't naming him because of his age.
The boy was arraigned Tuesday morning, while 18-year-old Rashid Perez and 23-year-old Octavius Snell were arraigned in the afternoon. They return to court June 17.
All three defendants face open murder, attempted murder and firearms charges.
The Associated Press left phone, email and fax messages Tuesday seeking comment for the teen's lawyer, Scott Wagenaar. It wasn't known if Perez and Snell have lawyers.
