CLEVELAND, OH -

Investigators need your help identifying a man caught on camera breaking into a place that works daily to help others, including drug addicts and alcoholics.

The thief ripped off the Stella Maris Center on Cleveland's near west side. The center holds drug and alcohol counseling sessions, beds for detox, and more.

Was the crook desperate? Stella Maris would've helped. In fact, on the same block, St. Malachi Church also offers all kinds of help to the down and out.

The thief stole hundreds of dollars from the Stella Maris coffee shop, a shop run by volunteers.

The camera caught just enough of the burglar's face to see it. These days Stella Maris can barely keep up with the demand for help, especially with heroin abuse soaring.

Manager Dave Rogers told 19 Action News, "We're here to help people who want to help themselves. This guy helped himself, but he did it the wrong way."
