CHICAGO, IL (WNEM) -

The Tigers (33-27) had the tying run on 3rd base with 1 out in the 9th inning, but Ian Kinsler struck out and then Torii Hunter grounded out, giving the White Sox (32-33) a 6-5 win.

Detroit got home runs from Miguel Cabrera, Eugenio Suarez, and Victor Martinez, but it wasn't enough to overcome a shaky start by Rick Porcello.

Porcello (8-4) took the loss, allowing 6 runs (5 earned) and 9 hits in 5 innings.

The Tigers bullpen kept the team in the game, as Corey Knebel, Ian Krol, and Evan Reed combined to throw 3 scoreless innings.

Detroit has lost 15 of its last 21 games.
