Loons to honor two millionth fan on Thursday night

MIDLAND, MI (WNEM) -
The Great LakesLoons will host their two millionth fan at Dow Diamond Thursday night and present a prize package that includes a trip to Los Angeles and two tickets to a Dodgers game.
The Loons, who are in their eighth-year of existence, have annually been among the Midwest Leagueleaders in attendance.
"We have been very fortunate to receive such tremendous support from our fans and sponsors over thefirst seven-and-a-half seasons of Loons baseball," said Loons president Paul Barbeau. "The two millionth fan symbolizes that support, and underscores the economic and charitable impact the Loons, Dow Diamond and the Michigan Baseball Foundation have had onthe Great Lakes Bay Region."
The team will honor its two millionth fan with a one-of-a-kind prize package, courtesy of Dow, thatincludes airfare for two to Los Angeles, two tickets to two Dodgers games, hotel stay for three nights, a rental car for four days, two tickets to Universal Studios and a $500 Visa Gift Card. Dates are flexible, with the fan deciding when they will use thepackage during the 2014 Dodgers season.
The Loons will host Dayton on Thursday for a 7:05 p.m. game. It will be the first game of the second-halffor all Midwest League teams, who are currently on the league's All-Star break.
Thursday's festivities in and around the ballpark include an East End Block Party to celebrate theopening of the East End Development complex. State Street will be closed directly in front of the building and there will be a stage, food truck, beer tent and rock wall. The event begins at 4 p.m.
