The University of Arizona Wildcat men's and women's track and field teams each had student-athletes recognized by the Pac-12 for their work in the classroom. On Thursday, the conference office announced the All-Academic teams for the 2014 outdoor track and field season. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.

On the men's side, redshirt freshman Aaron Castle was named a first-team All-Academic honoree. He boasts a 3.8 GPA and is pursuing a degree in natural resources. Also making the first team was redshirt sophomore Harrison Ivie. Ivie is pursuing a degree in political science and has a cumulative GPA of 3.91. Senior Lawi Lalang was also a first-team honoree. He has a 3.42 GPA and majored in public health during his time at Arizona. Lalang was also named the 2014 Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Junior Sam Macaluso was a second-team All-Academic selection for the second-straight year with his cumulative GPA of 3.52. He is majoring in management information systems. The Wildcats also had two student-athletes earn honorable mention honors, junior Kenji Bierig and Lezo Urreiztieta. The Pac-12 was kind enough to recognize Urreiztieta posthumously.

For the UA women, junior Stephanie Bulder, a molecular and cellular biology major, was a first-team All-Academic selection for the second-straight year with a cumulative GPA of 3.96. Redshirt junior Elvin was also a first-team selection, boasting a 3.81 GPA as a public health major. Senior Erin Menefee's 3.97 GPA was good for a first-team selection for the second-straight year. She earned a degree in nutritional sciences.

Redshirt sophomore Kate Penney and senior Tamara Pridgett were second-team honorees for the women's squad. Penney is pursuing a degree in philosophy and has a GPA of 3.74. Pridgett, the second-straight year she has earned the accolade, graduated from Arizona with a degree in communication and a 3.69 GPA. Five Wildcats earned honorable mention accolades as well for the women, junior Clea Formaz (second-straight year), senior Julie Labonté, junior Shakayla McEaddy (second-straight year), senior Germe Poston and sophomore Myriah Sujansky.
