A local murder case remains unsolved nearly four years later and officials are hoping for a new push in the right direction.
The family of 18-year-old Megan Kreuzer is still looking for answers as their daughter's murderer remains free.
"The loss of a child has got to be just horrific," said Julie Lopez, a member of Crime Stoppers.
Kreuzer died after the car she was riding in was shot up on the north side of Flint. Four years later police are still looking for her killer and closure for her family.
"Having someone taken away from you violently is tragic anyway, but at 18 years old she had a lot of life to live, dreams and they were taken away and her mom wants answers," Lopez said.
Lopez said she talks to Kreuzer's family often and as expected, the loss is still very fresh for the grief-stricken family.
"Her heart is breaking, her 18-year-old daughter was killed," Lopez said.
Kreuzer's murder took place near Alexander Street and Jackson Avenue. It was the 10th homicide in 10 days in the city during the summer of 2010. There have been a few leads in her case, but Lopez wants to stress, if anyone knows something they should come forward and they can do so anonymously.
"We don't take your name. We actually don't take any information. If the tipster calls in and gives some information, says 'I live next door to this drug house,' we take out the 'I live next door' part, because we don't want it to identify the tipster at all," Lopez said.
Lopez said Kreuzer's family offered a reminder of who she was and the painful significance of their loss.
"Megan was a bright, funny, smart, popular young lady with a huge heart, my heart breaks each day and she is always remembered," Lopez said.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to $2,500 for tips that lead to an arrest.
If you have any information regarding this cold case, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-speak-up. All calls remain anonymous.
