Multiple people injured in Arenac Co. crash

ARENAC COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A crash in Arenac County injured multiple motorcyclists Saturday morning, sending one to the hospital with severe injuries.

The accident happened around 11:30 a.m.

According to the Arenac County Sheriff's Department, three cars were traveling on U.S. 23 near Swenson Road when one car rear-ended another. That sent off a chain reaction when the car that was rear-ended slammed into a car that was traveling in front.

A group of motorcyclists were also traveling in the area and four of the bikes were hit by one of the cars that was rear-ended.

Seven motorcyclists were hit or injured in the crash. One of the cyclists was severely injured and was transported by helicopter to an area hospital. The condition of the cyclist is not known at this time.

Other cyclists were also transported to area hospitals. Their conditions are also not known.
