Madison Pines (Troy, Mich.), a senior on the Northwood University women's track and field team, has been named to the 2014 Capital One Second Team Academic All-America Division II Women's Track/Cross Country Teams as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Pines is the second Northwood athlete to earn Academic All-America this spring. She joins softball standout, Stacey Klonowski (Canton, Mich./Plymouth), in earning the award back-to-back years.

Pines graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration degree with a focus in Accounting last May (2013). In just three years at Northwood she was the valedictorian of her undergraduate class. Pines is currently carrying a 3.9 GPA in pursuit of a Masters of Business Administration degree. She will earn her MBA from the DeVos Graduate School of Management in August (2014).

Madison Pines turned in a remarkable all-around athletic career for the Timberwolves. She qualified for both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships the past two seasons in track and field. She also holds a total of four school records. In addition, Pines also was a key defender for the Northwood University women's soccer team, earning Honorable Mention All-GLIAC honors in 2012. Overall, Pines has earned Academic All-GLIAC Excellence honors eight times in her career.
