Thursday was an exciting day for parents and their kids in Midland as new family fun activities were announced for Plymouth Park.
Sometimes, it's not easy getting kids excited about learning, but with new interactive learning trail, kids in Midland will have fun and learn a little something along the way.
"I think every parent is looking for a creative way to bring education to life for their family and this is a great way to do it," said Holly Miller, vice president of United Way in Midland County.
Thursday was the grand opening of the Born Learning Trail at Plymouth Park. It features nine stations along a path from the pool to the playground and kids can do activities ranging from hopscotch to learning about shapes.
"We start with kind of learning about letters and what sounds they make. There's a great station where they learn about nature," Miller said.
At the station the kids stand in a circle and try to make each other laugh. The goal is to learn about each other and the way they interact.
The trail was a project by Midland's Young Leaders United Group.
"Lots of us have young children, young families, and lots of experience coming to the playground and interacting with the kids. So it was a great fit for us and let our kids get involved with the project as well," said Jenn Holzinger, chair of executive council of Young Leaders United.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Thursday afternoon.
The Young Leaders United said they plan to expand the trail in years to come.
