A Bay County man is behind bars after police say he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend by deploying a stun gun on her.
Police were called to the residence at Golfview Apartments in Hampton Township around 8 a.m. Sunday morning for a domestic dispute.
When officers arrived, they spoke with the suspect, a 23-year-old Bay County man and the victim, a 21-year-old Bay County woman about the altercation. Police determined that the man hit the woman multiple times and then shocked her with the stun gun.
Police also found marijuana on the man. He is currently lodged in the Bay County jail and is expected to be formally charged on Monday.
The woman was not seriously injured.
