(WMC) –The final election numbers could be the ammunition state senator Chris McDaniel needs to successfully challenge his loss to incumbent Thad Cochran in the Miss. Senate Republican runoff.
Chris McDaniel served the challenge notice on Friday and political experts say this could be the first step in challenging the runoff election results. McDaniel lost the runoff election to Senator Thad Cochran nearly two weeks ago by just over 6,000 votes.
However, McDaniel's camp says they've found thousands of voting irregularities in most of Mississippi's counties that include improper crossover voting. This is when people marked as voting in the June 3, Democratic primary and also voted in the June 24 Republican runoff, which is a practice banned by state law.
