Parma Police arrested a Cleveland man after he allegedly robbed two people at gunpoint. Kordeya D. Watts II, 22, was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.
On Saturday, July 5 around noon, police got a 911 call that said there was a male with a gun near 6900 State Road.
It turns out he had just robbed two victims at gunpoint for their phones and purses in the parking lot of the State House Apartments.
A witness said he saw Watts driving a car in the area just before the robbery, and police found that car had been reported stolen through the Cleveland Police Department.
As police searched for Watts, they received a call that a Buick Lacrosse was stolen from a home on Hetzel Drive. An officer in the area found Watts driving that Buick at the intersection of State and Dentzler Roads and attempted to pull him over. Watts then took off on foot.
Parma Police used K-9 Officer Felix to help track Watts down. He was found hiding behind a house in the 7200 block of State Road. Officers recovered the stolen items and handgun used to commit the crimes.
Watts is currently in Parma Jail on the aggravated robbery charges and prosecutors are considering additional charges. No court date has been set yet.
