Batman vs. Superman filming comes to Mid-Michigan

LAPEER COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Parts of the new Batman vs. Superman movie starring Ben Affleck are being shot in Lapeer County, according to reports.

There haven't been any star sightings yet, but the buzz has many people in the area excited to catch a glimpse.

The new Batman vs. Superman film is partially being shot in the area.

According to the Pure Michigan film office the action is taking place at the old Girl Scout camp outside the Metamora Township village.

Township officials granted a building permit at the camp in January for temporary structures to be built and then demolished.

"It seems like it's just a rumor," said Melissa Tucker, Metamora resident. "It just seems like everybody's talking about it, but you really don't see much."

Some speculate a cabin is being built on the site to serve as Bruce Wayne's cottage and possibly an entrance to the Batcave.

The camp looks pretty desolate, no real signs of life, but neighbors said they have seen trucks coming in and out carrying supplies, but no star sightings yet.

The film is currently scheduled for release in May 2016.
