ST. JOHNS, MI (AP) -

A 17-year-old boy has agreed to stand trial on a first-degree murder charge in the robbery and slaying of a 19-year-old Michigan State University student.

Brendan Heim of Saline appeared Wednesday in Clinton County District Court in St. Johns and waived his right to a probable cause hearing. No trial date has been set yet.

The Lansing State Journal says defense lawyer Frank Reynolds declined comment.

Dustyn Frolka of Owosso was beaten and robbed Feb. 15. He jumped from an SUV in Bath Township near Lansing and was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Eighteen-year-old Tyrel Bredernitz of Saline also is charged with murder and faces trial Sept. 17.   Eighteen-year-old Samantha Grigg of Saline pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced in May to 6 to 15 years in prison.
