Two women are dead after their vehicle slammed into a garage and burst into flames.
A close friend of one of the victims opened up to TV5 about coming upon the scene and finding her friend still alive in the middle of the fiery crash.
"It was my friend, and it's just sickening," she said.
The woman, who didn't want to be identified, was talking about the death of Sherry West.
West, from Lapeer County, and another woman died in a car fire last week. The friend recounted how she tried to help her friend after answering a frantic knock on the door from West's husband Greg.
"She's on fire in the driveway; you got to help her," the woman said Greg West told her.
The woman said the scene at the Lapeer Township home was horrifying.
"Leaned down and I said, 'Oh my God! Sherry! I was pulling her clothes off because they were burning," she said.
Authorities said Sherry West was rushed to the hospital where she died a short time later. Meanwhile, the unidentified witness said another gruesome discovery was made. The body of Linda Horton was found a short time later, also in the car.
"Then there was just more cops and more ambulances and stuff going off," she said.
One person who knew the victims said this isn't the first time there's been trouble at the house.
"I've picked up Sherry and taken her to the hospital a couple times regarding a domestic that's between them both," Dawn Rise said.
Police confirmed they arrested Greg West back in January for domestic violence.
Greg West is currently in the Lapeer County jail, charged with obstructing an officer in the current incident. As the investigation into the incident continues, the unidentified woman said she's trying to cope with an overwhelming sense of grief.
"I'm going to miss her," she said.
State police are still reviewing the incident.
It is unclear if Greg West will face any criminal charges in connection to the deaths.
